Thursday 28 February 2013

Thursday:
Week 37 Beginning Monday 25th February 2013:
My weight is still fluctuating up and down about 1 kilogram all week, but I seem to be holding fast at 35kgs down, tipping the scales at 155kgs.  Again I say, at least it's not going up and remembering that this is NOT a weight loss diet, rather a healthy eating lifestyle change, every kilo is a bonus.

Thursday Breakfast:
My wife cooked up a very tasty omelette this morning, with our Mexican spiced beef mince with onion and red kidney beans, bacon, assorted Mexican cheeses, double cream and eschallots.

Thursday Lunch:
Roast beef with a few healthy dollops of dijon mustard and a zingy salad of avocado, capsicum, baby cucumber, tomato and a feta stuffed chilli.  Yumo!

Thursday Dinner:
Another amazing steak, cooked to perfection with cabbage, cauliflower and my wife's amazing home made mushroom gravy.

Sunday:
Week 36 Beginning Monday 18th February 2013:
Finally, there's movement at the station again and I am pleased to be able to say, I'm another kilogram down this week, which of course, I do hope is just the start of a long and ever continuing friendship between falling numbers and my annoyingly accurate scales.

Sunday Breakfast:
Up way too early for a Sunday morning, we enjoyed a beautiful Breakfast in the Walnut Restaurant and Lounge Bar, at Royal on the Park in Brisbane City.  I started off with bacon, a fried egg, some scrambled eggs, grilled tomato, breakfast sausages and a hash brown.

I followed up with more bacon, a couple more breakfast sausages, another fried egg, some baked beans and another little hash brown.  Yum.

Sunday Lunch:
Still full from a big breakfast in the City this morning, we nibbled some chicken pieces while watching a movie for a lazy Sunday afternoon feed.

Sunday Dinner:
Very tasty seasoned lamb chops with cauliflower, broccoli and some garlic sour cream.

Saturday Dinner:
Dinner at Sizzler Bookside ended up a little uncomfortable after eating too much.  I started off with a vegetable laksa with added bacon, because everything's better with bacon, oh and a few overcooked crunchy bits of potato skins.

Next was a tender, premium 250gm grass-fed Royal Blue Rib Eye, seasoned & grilled medium rare and served with sweet potato fries, steamed broccolini and a little mushroom sauce.

I then shouldn't have, but wanted to make the most of the soup and salad bar by having a few corn chips with some taco beef and beans alongside a few pasta spirals and some beef bolognaise, all with a little grated cheddar on top.

I finished off with a squiggle of soft serve vanilla ice cream, but held off all the toppings.

My weight seems to be in a holding pattern of between 33 and 34kgs down and just doesn't seem to want to start moving since my festive season indulgences.  But I am trying to stand firm, keeping on diet at every opportunity, with the exception of birthday celebrations, valentine's day coming up and another birthday celebration next week.Sunday Breakfast:

Sunday Breakfast:
With a late night ahead, we had a sleep in and late breakfast at home this morning.  I cooked up a really tasty batch of tomato, bacon, onion and tomato paste, all with a lovely double cream and eschallots scrambled eggs on top.

Sunday Lunch:
A salami and cheese stick on the way to the wedding of our Nice on the "Dark Side".

Sunday Dinner:
We had an assortment of finger food while waiting for the reception to start at Brothers Leagues Club in Ipswich this evening.

Brothers Leagues Club in Ipswich put on a nice buffet dinner this evening, so I treated myself to a little of everything I thought was pretty close to being on diet.  Lots of tender roast beef, a little ham and salami, a small spoon of beef lasagne, a fraction of potato bake, some carrots, broccoli and beans.

As desert was Wedding Cake with a strawberry, little scoop of ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream, how could I not take part in the celebrations, or at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Thursday Lunch:
Mexican spiced beef mince with onion and kidney beans, with some carrots, cauliflower and broccoli.

Thursday Dinner:
For our Valentine's Day Dinner this evening, we enjoyed a magnificent seafood smorgasbord at Morgan's Seafood Restaurant in the Scarborough Boat Harbour.  First plate consisted of a dozen oysters natural, half a Moreton Bay Bug, half a Lobster, a couple of deep fried muscles, a little calamri and small piece of fish.

Plate two was one and a half Lobsters and two Moreton Bay Bugs.

Plate three consisted of another three and a half Moreton Bay Bugs, plus a tiny piece of grilled fish in butter sauce, a little calamari and another few deep fried muscles.

I know I shouldn't have, but the deserts for Valentine's Day were so cute, I just had to get some to photograph and then I just couldn't leave them there, so they disappeared pretty quick.

Happy Valentine's Day to all.
