Monday 31 December 2012

Monday: New Year's Eve
Week 29 Beginning Monday 31st December 2012:
I am pleased to say that even with the many indulgences of Christmas, my weight has simply continued to fluctuate between 32 and 33kgs down, but amazingly I haven't put on any weight.  There's been many meals out, foods I don't normally eat, a couple of chocolates and a glass of port a day, even a bag of potato chips with a movie and although the scales haven't dipped any further, I haven't set myself back too much.  The new year will be back on track with the diet and looking forward to many more kilograms disappearing from my scales.

Monday Breakfast:
Double cream and feta cheese scrambled eggs atop some fried onion, mushroom, and tomato.

Monday Lunch:
My wife's nice home made chicken, carrot, celery, potato and double cream soup.

Monday Dinner:
Off to celebrate New Year's with friends this evening, I've put together some on-diet nibbles for dinner.

Monday Dinner:
New Year's celebrations this year consisted of a bottle of Crystal Head Vodka ... yes, the whole bottle.

Sunday 30 December 2012

Sunday:
Week 28 Beginning Monday 24th December 2012:
My weight has been fluctuating between 32 and 33kgs down all week, so considering it's the silly season and I have been struggling with consistent meal times, even skipped breakfast one day, have had a few little indulgences like a nice big glass of Port each night to help me sleep while I have this retched flu and things like a couple of chocolates, coleslaw and potato salad, I think I'm doing all right to be honest.  I do expect my weight to fluctuate a little over the next couple of weeks with Christmas indulgences, but I will be back on track again in the new year to continue the downward spiral ... of weight that is.

Sunday Brunch:
A nice mixed grill from Bucking Bull at Westfield Chermside today while out shopping after a well needed sleep in.  I had a steak, pork sausage, bacon, 2 eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomato and a has brown.

Saturday Dinner:
Tacos without the tortilla with Mexican spiced beef mince, red kidney beans and onion topped with tasty cheese and some lettuce, tomato, avocado on the side.

Saturday 29 December 2012

Saturday Breakfast:
Left over Indian with a twist.  We had the Indian sauce left over from last night's Bombay Bliss dinner, along with a little basmati rice too, so I added some roast beef for the meat content and it was very nice indeed.  A bit of a change for breakfast.

Saturday Lunch:
Out and about shopping, I called into Nando's Albany Creek where I know I can get a good, on diet meal now.  BBQ Chicken thighs with a nice Mediteranian side salad.

Saturday Dinner:
My wife's home made chicken soup, with carrots, celery, potato and a dollop of double cream.

Friday 28 December 2012

Bacon, eggs, lamb chops and mushrooms.  Yum.

Friday Lunch:
Some lovely smoked ham off the bone with a little left over salad of assorted lettuce, tomato, tasty cheese, semi dried tomatoes, avocado, cashew nuts and even more smoked ham off the bone.

Friday Dinner:
We thought a little spice might help sweat out the flu, so we ordered some from Bombay Bliss Albany Creek and took it home to eat while watching a movie.  We had chicken sindh, which is boneless chicken thighs simmered in a sauce of ginger, garlic, tomato, onion, coriander, eshallots and spices, plus a little basmati rice and a nice lamb korma, consisting of diced lamb cooked with ground almonds, cashews, yoghurt, mixed spices, cream and herbs.

My wife made a lovely home cooked Chicken soup with carrots, celery, potatoe and a daub of pure cream.  Just what the doctor ordered.

Wednesday Breakfast:
One in ... all in.  Smoked ham, eschallots, mushrooms, tomato and a couple of eggs.

Wednesday Lunch:

A nice light and tasty salad with assorted lettuce, tomato, tasty cheese, semi dried tomatoes, avocado and smoked ham off the bone.

Tuesday Christmas Day Lunch:
Christmas lunch with family in air conditioning ... I had some roast turkey, smoked ham off the bone and a lovely Greek salad with lettuce capsicum, olives, tomato, onion, mushrooms and feta cheese.

Tuesday Christmas Day Lunch Desert:
My sister in-law made a special cheesecake with NO SUGAR, just to try and keep me close to my diet (thank you) and it was absolutely delicious.  Light, fluffy and very tasty indeed.

Tuesday Christmas Day Dinner:
Not really hungry, but with all the lovely fresh food on offer from my wonderful cousin's, who could resist?  I had some lovely smoked ham off the bone, roast chicken, roast turkey, marinated capsicum, cherry tomatos, pickled onions, a gherkin, slice of avocado, broccoli, mushroom and lettuce.  Thank you Dennis and Glenda.

Tuesday Christmas Day Dinner Desert:
I was tied down and handcuffed to my chair, while being force fed desert ... NOT!  I enjoyed one of the tastiest, light and fresh puddings drowned in thickened cream, made with NO SUGAR, that I've had in as long as I can remember.  Thank you Glenda ... it was the perfect end to a great day.

Monday Breakfast:
A few fried eggs with some extra tasty mild sopressa salami, bacon, mushroom and tomato.

Monday Lunch:
Roast pork, coleslaw and potato salad ... you can tell it's Christmas.

Monday Dinner:
Prawns ... yes, just fresh, tender, succulent Australian prawns, with a little salt and pepper, lemon and a dash of seafood sauce.  It's a Christmas eve tradition that used to include fresh breadrolls, so my tradition has just been modified slightly to avoid the bread.  Simple, but tasty.

Sunday 23 December 2012

Sunday:
Week 27 Beginning Monday 17th December 2012:
Only just 33kgs down this morning and if I had to be honest, I'm actually about 100g short of that number today, tipping the scales at 157.1kgs, but it's still falling so I am happy.  I just don't want to undo any of the good work I've achieved in the last half a year.  My, how time flies.  Today kicks off the first week of the second half of my first year with a new way of eating ... a lifestyle change for the better ... much lighter than I was when I started.

Sunday Breakfast:
A very tasty breakfast this morning with some fried bacon, mild sopressa salami, mushrooms, eschallots and tomato, with some double creamy, feta cheese scrambled eggs.

Sunday Lunch:
A nice chicken Caesar salad today with a little bacon, parmesan and tasty cheddar, lettuce and roast chicken.

Sunday Dinner:
Beef mince, tomato, onion and red kidney beans with some cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and a nice Japanese BBQ sauce from Nonbei Sake Bar and BBQ.

Saturday Brunch:
Still feeling full of the flu, I decided to do a little last minute running about this morning, partly so I could take the opportunity to wish Amy from Kokomos Coffee House & Cantina all the best for her future and of course, so they could make me a hearty Aussie breakfast of bacon, scrambled eggs, tomato, mushrooms and a slightly naughty hash brown.

Saturday Dinner:
You can tell it's Christmas ... out come the coleslaw and potato salad, with a tender piece of roast chicken.  Simple but effective.

Sunday:
Week 26 Beginning Monday 10th December 2012:
32kgs down and falling.  I did have a little celebratory ice cream and gingerbread reindeer for the half yearly mark, but am careful not to let it get away from me, so it's back on track this week and I will be trying to be a little extra diligent in this lead up to Christmas as I know there will be some indiscretions to come.

Sunday Breakfast:
Last shopping day before Christmas started with some bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato and a hash brown from Kokomo's Coffee House & Cantina.

Feeling too hot and bothered to be hungry, I threw down a KFC Double with two breasts of chicken, a slice of bacon and cheese, with a dollop of BBQ sauce.
