Wednesday 31 October 2012

Wednesday:
Week 20 Beginning Monday 29th October 2012:
25 kilograms down and the weight continues melt away little by little.  Friday is "D" Day for for the final program blood tests, which will reveal just what has really been achieved over this quite remarkable 20 week journey.  I already know we've cured my diabetes from the mid term tests, but I now have my fingers crossed that all areas of concern have blood markers moving in the right direction.

Wednesday Breakfast:
Scrambled eggs with the lot.  3 eggs, bacon, mushroom, feta and tasty cheese, eschallots, double cream and some cracked pepper.

Wednesday Lunch:
Beef mince with bacon, mushroom and onion, with some parmesan cheese, cauliflower and broccoli.

Wednesday Dinner:
A nice big juicy steak cooked to perfection with cauliflower, broccoli and a big slice of salty French butter.

Tuesday Breakfast:
I'd forgotten how good Lamb Chops taste for breakfast, so this morning served up a few lamb chops, couple of slices of bacon, a couple of fried eggs, some fried mushrooms and a grilled tomato.

Tuesday Lunch:
Some tender, juicy roast lamb, with cauliflower, broccoli, carrot and French butter.

Tuesday Dinner:
A really tasty bolognaise with beef mince, tasty cheese, onion, bacon and mushrooms, plus some carrot, beans and broccoli.

Monday Breakfast:
Scrambled eggs with double cream, feta cheese and eschallots, some fried mushroom and bacon, plus a grilled tomato topped with a little tasty cheese.

Monday Lunch:
Just back from the dentist after having a tooth removed, so not in the mood for solid foods just yet.  All I could find in the cupboard was an old tin of Heinz Big Red Tomato Soup, so I've added a few Italian herbs, some beef stock and a little parsley.

Monday Dinner:
Still nursing a tender mouth, I thought it best to stick with soft foods this evening, so we whipped up a quick red curry soup, with lots of herbs and spices, coconut milk, some nice tender chicken, cauliflower and broccoli, with a nice big dollop of thickened cream.

Sunday 28 October 2012

Sunday:
Week 19 Beginning Monday 22nd October 2012:
24 kilograms down and the weight continues to drop in numbers ... slowly but surely.  I've even managed to start wearing shorts I haven't fit into in a few years, so the reshaping process has begun, albeit a little slowly for my eyes to notice, others say they are genuinely beginning to see the transformation.  I have a long way to go, but it's nice to get positive comments for a change.

Sunday Breakfast:
Another day of retail therapy, starting with a nice big breakfast at Kokomos Coffee House & Cantina Albany Creek.  Bacon, eggs, sausage, mushroom and tomato.  Yum.

Sunday Lunch:
Westfield Chermside food court has an amazing selection, unless of course you want something without break, rice or noodles ... back to Mekong 2 Chinese for some Asian vegetables, beef in black bean, satay chicken, plus a couple BBQ plumb chicken wings.  All in all ... not too bad.

Sunday Dinner:
Tender, juicy roast lamb, with broccoli, cauliflower, Camembert cheese, a little butter and pepper.

Saturday Breakfast:
Out and about early this morning with a big day of car shopping ahead, so I'm going to do my best to try and stick with the diet, no matter where I end up for a meal.  I had an awesome Chef's Breakfast Special and the Coffee Club Albany Creek this morning.  A nice juicy rib fillet, couple of pork sausages, some bacon, mushroom, couple of fried eggs and a little onion chutney.  What a great start to the day.

Saturday Lunch:
We ended up the Pineapple Hotel for lunch and I had lamb chops and salad with lettuce, mushroom, red onion, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese and a drizzling of balsamic vinegar and olive oil, with a little tzatziki dip on the side.  Just perfect.

Saturay Dinner:
Still out and about, we ended up at Nando's Albany Creek where I had half of the Two's a Party Platter with a quarter chicken, tenderloin and thigh fillet, with a nice little side salad of lettuce, capsicum, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and balsamic vinegarette.

Sunday 21 October 2012

Sunday:
Week 18 Beginning Monday 15th October 2012:
23 kilograms down and all I can say is nothing, not a thing other than diet change is providing me with a constant weight loss, so the secret is certainly NOT low fat diets.  I think we can put that ridiculous theory to rest now.

Sunday Breakfast:
Up and about early for a big day, we had to try and find a suitable breakfast in the shopping centre food court, so Bucking bull got chosen for their "Big Breakfast" and I swapped my hash brown for my wife's sausage in the name of trying to do my best to keep on the diet, with a couple of eggs, grilled tomato and some bacon too.  Not the nicest brekky I've had, but it filled a gap.

Sunday Lunch:
visiting our God Daughter Ariana for her third birthday today, we grabbed a Caesar salad mix and some roast chicken from Woolworths on the way and had a nice salad with lettuce, parmesan cheese, bacon and roast chicken.

Sunday Dinner:
Still on the road and too late to go home and make dinner, we stopped a Miss India and I had a bowl of Chicken Korma ... no rice, just a bowl of Korma.  Kind of bland ... not really my favourite Indian takeaway, that's for sure.  Just lacks flavour and oompf ... I think they "dumb it down" for the Aussie palate.

Saturday Lunch:
Fast becoming my favourite salad, today I had some beautiful, tender roast lamb, with lettuce, carrot, red cabbage and a mustard and vinegar dressing.  Yum!

Saturday Dinner:
Trivia night at the local school resulted in a nibble plate for dinner, so I just avoided all the pastries, Cobb loaf dips, cakes, brownies, cupcakes, m&m's, lollies, sweets and sugar treats ... and stuck to our own wholesome platter of salami, cabanossi, cabana, a few cheese, some pickled onions and gherkin.
